Have had a very similar problem w/ the plant. One small plant has turned into 30+ in just a few years. I've found that roundup works fairly well to get rid of it but it takes multiple spraying over a extended period of time. It's a native where I live and is a very valuable wildflower. I would grow it only if you I had a large field to let it do its thing.
