Thank you for such a great idea! My boys, Robert and Aidan, are now 7 and 6, but have been gardening for several seasons. I remember spending a fall morning planting bulbs with Robert when he was only 3. I'd dig the hole, put in the bulb and let him fill in the hole. For every single one, he'd ask, twice, "This one?" and then fill it up. He doesn't quite remember, but I do every time those daffodils come up. Last year they helped plant our vegetable garden. They even offered some of their cut-up cucumbers to every child in their soccer team during a very hot day. They were so proud, telling everyone they had grown them from seed! I was a very happy mom and gardener too. This year they have already helped me start the tomato seeds and transplant the seedlings to taller containers. They were amazed that the stalk under the soil can grow more roots and make the plant stronger. Here's to growing the next generation of gardeners!
