I would like to share my latest mosaic journey. It is made with recycled wall tiles, broken mugs (red crab), and left overs that a friend gave me from her work. Hope you enjoy it.

That's beautiful! did you make the actual bird bath or add the mosaic to a store bought one? If you made it, how?

Sorry for taking so long to reply Chrissy, the substrate was terracotta. The base had a different bowl, but the bowl broke, so it was used as a plant pot for a while and then I realised I could just put a terracotta dish on top. Because I have been doing mosaics, I thought it would look much nicer tiled, so that is how it came about. Had you seen a previous mosaic of a trough? Can't remember if I have put it up on Dave's Garden - we moved house, and I had to sell the trough, so the bird bath has kind of taken its place in my heart! I have seen birds using it so that is a good sign. Even a neighbour's cat has found it useful! LOL However, I have attempted some of my own substrate and made a planter pot and a couple of mushrooms. I want to do more of that, as I found it quite interesting. Thank you for your interest!

Here is the trough I left behind which took six months to complete. I kept plenty of pictures and it is very happy and loved by the new owner!

Thought you may like to see a closer look at the Manic red and white mushroom and undersides of the both of them.

I got carried away! I have to say, I am very proud of it. It is a joy to watch birds and the neighbour's cat drinking from it in the back yard! The birds are slowly realising it is there and are having baths also! It will be busier in the summer LOL

Hi Elaine, Yes my husband and I moved back to Vic last November - not enjoying the cold winter, but NSW isn't having much luck either - I have two daughters in Sydney!
Thank you for your comments on the mushrooms. I want to do more of them. Di

Not sure if I have added this somewhere else. Another dear friend of mine had a birthday, so I made her a mosaic which was to encompass her favourite things. She was very happy with it! So I must have done good! Thank you for your lovely comments on my mosaics - it is really appreciated!!

I have known Linda since I was 15 (now 60) so we go back a way! She is very arty! Loves to paint and is a very colourful person! Thus the colours and attributes of the mosaic!

The idea was for something for her to put in her garden on the wall! But she likes it too much and has kept it inside! LOL
