planted my rose bush four weeks ago. I am so impressed. (and happy.)
my first bloom
thank you. I was really surprised it bloomed so fast, I was expecting another 3-4 weeks. Checked this morning and another bud is about to bloom as well.
Cool thing about roses...once they get started they just take off.
Yeah, the wife and I are giddy like a couple of kids in a candy store.
Amazing isn't it? Who'da thunk a flower could make ya so happy? GRIN
yeah, and the wife is even more giddy, some of her strawberries are getting ripe.
How cool...the Ponchatoula Strawberry festival is this weekend...soon there will be berries everywhere.
Yeah, and my Mulberry tree are dropping berries like crazy. My daughter calls it red dandruff.
well, i dont know about in paradise but they're getting fat. lol
We had a very happy Camphor tree at our old house in BR...every year the bluejays would show up to eat the fermenting berries....dark purple berries and a white car.....UGH. But they were so funny to watch because they would actually get a bit drunk from the berries and flap and squawk and flutter around the yard.
hahaha i'm picturing blue jays with rosey cheeks and hic-ups
the other day i've seen a birdhouse that resembled a small town bar, may have to get it. haha
especially if ya have fruit trees or camphor trees...grin
maybe i'll have to get a cardinal and hire him as a bouncer lol
Might have to call in the buzzards...no one hangs out with them...grin. funny memory...when my oldest son was 3 or 4 he saw his first clutch of Buzzards. We told him the name and when we got to Granny's house he ran inside and told her all about the big bunch of BROUSSARDS he saw by the side of the road..She was a bit perplexed as that is her neighbor's last name.
haha thats too funny. over here, the Fontenots are overpowering. therre's like five pages in the phone book with them.
