I had a very interesting question posed to me by a kindergartener. She wanted to know, "What are leaves made of?". I stumbled through something about chloryphil and fiber and veins, but I realized I didn't have a good answer. What would you say to a 5 year old? A 45 year old?

I'm no expert, but plants, like humans have DNA. Just like the human body knows to grow fingernails, eyeballs and bones, the plant knows to grow roots, leaves, stems and flowers.
