Ferns, Fungi and Mosses: hardy fern root haven't came up

I planted some hardy cinnamon fern root about 3 weeks to a month ago and they still aren't coming up. Does it need to be warmer outside before they will come up . When I planted them it it was in mid 80's ,but the past 2 weeks it has cooled down into the 70's and mid 40's at night
