    Paul, thanks for dispelling some of these myths. Another one I heard was the use of hot pepper juice to spray on plants to repel poests. I read somewhere that only mammmals can sense the heat of peppers. Did you ever hear that one.

    Great article - I would like to mention though that postassium bicarbonate does a great job on powdery mildew without damaging foliage. PHC carries it.

    Thanks for the comments.
    I've heard that mixing cayenne pepper with bird seed will discourage squirrels, the pepper doesn't affect squirrels.

    I tried that (squirrels vs. cayenne pepper). It didn't work.

    My neighbor adds a little hot pepper to his chicken feed because he says the chickens cannot taste it - but it dispels internal parasites.

    He is all organic when it comes to his chickens, and he reads a lot, so maybe he knows what he is talking about

    Kelli sorry about the squirrels, - the little rats with fluffy tails.
