    He was chased around by the jays and cardinals, so I could not get a shot of him.

    He was about the size of the cardinals, but no crest. Black head and back, black and white wings, snowy white belly and a red flash down the breast.

    is this it. This is male, females are brownish
    They love sunflower seed and Safflower seeds. if you keep them out you could possible get up to 6 prs and that is a site to behold

    :) Yes, that does look a lot like my bird although it had a narrower red breast. Thanks! My feeders always have lots of sunflower seeds, but there's heavy traffic with all the jays, grackles and cardinals so I do hope the grosbeak comes back.
