This is growing on the fence line. There are a lot of different things and I see this is three places. The stems are reddish

Not an ivy nor an elder. The leaves are opposite; looks like a Manitoba Maple Acer negundo seedling.

I'm sorry, it looks too much like poison ivy for my comfort. In my yard I would get hubby to pull it up; I can't touch the stuff, myself.

Me as well. Don't touch it with your bare skin if you are allergic. Toxicodendron radicans or related species (she says sitting here with a dandy poison ivy rash).

Here's my lovely new growth this spring.

It's Manitoba maple, Acer negundo, as Resin has said.

You are welcome to walk up closer to that tree and take a clearer picture, so that others can determine what its ID is.

I agree with Resin and alta - that's an Acer negundo. Poison Ivy will never have opposite arrangement of foliage.

Yes, that is right about the alternate leaves. I just looked the first three and not the sets of three. Whenever I see "leaves of 3" I just let it be. I am higly allergic.

Silver Maple Acer saccharinum (suspected this from the tree pic, and the leaves confirm it).

Well not from this tree. I wonder if it is from my own tree, which is some sort of maple also

It's an Acer Negundo. A Maple tree that spreads seeds all over and are a constant fight in a flower garden.
