this is a really good idea! I live in texas in an area with a ton of limestone right up to the surface, making it very difficult to cultivate anything besides native plants. I'm wanting to grow my own edibles but don't have the finances to completely excavate and back fill an area for gardening, so I'll try to post what is successful and what is not. Although a thought for taller plants: what about building a box frame out of scrap wood and putting the bags in that to stabilize?

Boxes or some type of fencing would help stabilize the taller plants. You might repurpose pallets if you can get your hands on them in your area, too.

Good luck with your grow bag garden, and DO post pics! Thank for reading and posting your good ideas!

If anyone wants to try boxing with pallets, I know you can get them from the Hood county news for free, and possibly from other newpaper buildings as well.

Excellent, free garden containers and fencing. We sometimes get wooden shipping crates to modify into planting container, too. We just have to find our area's free resources!
