Hi. I would like to obtain seeds or rose hips of the old pioneer rose "Harison's Yellow". This rose grew in the front yard of my century-old Iowa farm home. But the house was sold and the rose got bulldozed. I tried taking rose cuttings from an Iowa cemetery, but the rose stems are thin and frail. They rotted in water, dried up, or got mold when planted in sand and covered with plastic bags here in SoCal. I'd appreciate any suggestions for different techniques!

I'd like to try growing this rose from seed. Can any rose enthusiast check their "Harison's Yellow" bush for hips? I believe they are small and black.
Thank you for any help!
