I found this dry leaf with some white spots. The leaf had fallen many days ago and was lying under something, along with a lot other leaves. What is this growth? They don't seem like insect eggs. Some sort of fungus? Second picture gives a closer look.

Looks like the fruiting bodies of a fungus or a lichen, but I don't know what genus it might be.

Now I remember similar things on our old clay tiles also, perhaps the ones that are rough and holds moisture. These may grow where there is some moisture and that leaf too as I found this after the rains in a shady location. I'll look for a picture of that tile. Have it somewhere in my PC. Took 2 years ago.

someone commented on that thread that I saw that this fungus is often seen on plants bought from nurseries for some reason. I think this is the thread I saw.http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1124630/?hl=fungus

I found that picture. This tile is 100 years old. I don't know since how long this 'fungus' is there. I'm seeing such fungus things on a few tiles on the roof. This tile is closer to the wall which casts a shadow and so the afternoon sunlight is stopped. Is it the same or different?
