I have been composting for years, a few years ago I read that tossing a handfull of comfrey leaves into the compost would speed up the action. It works VERY WELL. I have planted several comfrey plants around my compost bins and just pick a few leaves and toss in with the other material I'm adding. I can't believe how fast things decompose!
