| It reminded me of Garlic Mustard too. Is there anything that looks like Garlic Mustard besides Garlic Mustard? |

| Reminds me of a Campanula? edit- I had the same thoughts about GM but then thought it would not be at that stage right now in your zone.

| Garlic mustard is a biennial, so the stage of the plant and the shape of the leaves are partly dependent on which year the plant is in. I would definitely crush a leaf and smell it to determine one way or another whether it is garlic mustard. If it's garlic mustard, it will smell like garlic. |

| I've spent countless days pulling garlic mustard out of the woods and I've never seen it with leaves like that. If it is garlic mustard, you'll have one for the books!

| I did crush a leaf--it doesn't smell particularly garlicy (is that a word?). The leaf-shape's resemblence got my attention in the first place because I really *don't* want Garlic Mustard in these woods. I'm glad it doesn't appear to be that pesky weed -- but now I don't know what it actually is... |

| Aster cordifolius is a good suggestion...that could be it...I'll watch for it to flower in August to know for sure.
Thanks, greenthumb99! I'm marking this solved for now. |
