I found dracunculus vulgaris in my garden yesterday, and I know I did not plant it!
Do they reseed easily? Did it come from a neighbor's yard? Did a squirrel transplant it for me?
I love the look and want to propagate more, how do I do this?

Also, how long will it smell bad, and how long will it be in bloom?
Thanks again!

My Konjacs stink for about 2-3 days. But I really don't mine the smell so much. Visitors do though!

S_U. I can only guess squirrels may have done the transplanting job for the mother plant produces many baby bulbs underground. This spring I found one popped up in a remote area in the garden (one far away from others in the yard), so I think squirrels here maybe responsible? It's nice to know they survive your zone. Though, voles will eat most of my bubls. So I keep my prized ones in container and bring them inside over the winter.
