Balloon Flower, Chinese Bellflower, Japanese Bellflower, Toraji
Platycodon grandiflorus

One of two Balloon Flowers in my perennial garden. The blooms look big on the small plants.

This image cannot be 'Komachi'. It looks like one of the dwarf varieties. 'Komachi' flowers do not open past the balloon stage (see other photos). 'Komachi' is rather tall (3 feet or more).

Aphthona, thank you for your comment. The perennial garden place where I bought the plant had it labeled "Komachi," and I had no reason to question it, but now I'm sure you are correct. I have contacted DG's admin to request that my picture be removed. Wish I knew what variety of Balloon Flower it really is! It's a sweet little plant.
