We are currently care taking an villa in the French Riviera (planting zone 9 by US standards) and found these odd plants beginning to pop up in shady sections of the grounds...have no idea whether they are wild orchids or not and would love some info. Thank YOU!!!!

Can you post pics of the plant itself? The leaf structure?

It's a parasitic plant in the Orobanchaceae family.

Looks like Orobanche minor
