This house plant of mine has developed some black spots on about a handful of leaves. It is a very large plant, some vines are about 4-5 feet long and seems to be very healthy. When leaves do die, they turn yellow n fall off . I have never noticed black spots like this. Does anyone know what these spots are? Should I be worried? I have several plants located in the same area as this one and this is the only plant with the spots.
I've never been able to keep a single Coleus plant going for more than a couple years. They seem to do best with yearly propagation from younger sections. It looks like yours has reached the point where the roots are unable to support all of the growth. You could try repotting but I think it would be a lot easier to discard the root ball and use the stems to start a fresh young plant. It sounds like you may have enough material to fill several pots.
