I have Crepe Myrtle Trees that I want to have a trunk. I don't want it to be a bush. By nature it is a bush. I had the idea that if I cut the small branches at the bottem and sprayed them with a sealer or paint it would prohibit the new growth. I guess after reading you article that is not a good idea. However, I think it is very hard to kill a Crepe Mytle Tree. Do you have any ideas how I can accomplish my tree? I know it can be done because I see them all over town. I just don't know how to accomplish it. My cuttings just keep coming back.
