We've had a run of 3 days of pure sunshine, soft breezes and blue sky's, the weekend is looking just as good!!!
It's 59 @ the moment, high of 62 with showers. From Thursday(tomorrow ) until next Thursday it will be sunny with temps in the high 70's everyday!
Rain looks like it's letting up...should get a walk in today...agree, Bill...the rain was great for all the disturbing of my plants that Garret did...he must have dug a hundred, & planted them all the next day...glutton for punishment!
Sun has disappeared...again...as that pesky storm is now coming in the back door...forecaster assures CT that sun will be back this afternoon...right. Saw an article in today's paper about tomato/potato blight being reported on Long island & in Jersey...wonderful...
was going to go out and enjoy my coffee on the deck this morning.. watching the hummers.. it's too chilly.. LOL.. on the couch with a blankie on!!!.. will have to have lunch on the deck instead... 56 now going to 72 .. going to be nice for one more day at least.. then we are going to melt!!
We have a window AC in one downstairs room. Don't turn it on until it feels hot. We are 5 miles from the ocean although there is a 200 ft ridge between us but still get a breeze as long as there is one.
J-2 can you imagine me in shorts? well I am. Upstairs typing out letters & it will feel cooler when I go down. If too bad I will retreat to the room with the a/c. 92° Come on ocean. You can cool better than that.
no really it's been so crazy trying to get all these projects done, deck staining is almost finished(just touch ups left) then we can get going on the pool, hopefully hubby won't be working crazy hours next week so we can get it done
Not good here...88, with high humidity...battled a thousand or so folks at WFF's sale this morning...got there at 9:10...they let folks in at 9...there was no parking in the lower lot, I was out in the pasture with the cattle...then I had to drag all my goodies back to the car...
Very severe storms have gone through...wind was between 50-60 mph according to forecaster...tree through house just in the next town to me, 27,000 without power in the northern counties of CT...Suey & I were in the basement...again...this is getting upsetting, my tall old tree were swaying like in a hurricane...but, thank God, no damage here...just a lightning strike that was so close I heard the snapping...and some very welcome rain! Hope everyone in the storm areas will be safe!
It's 61 but still humid, humidity is @ 93% this morning. High of 80 for today which is a little better than yesterday.
As long as NO STORMS roll through, we should be fine.
This is what one storm did yesterday...
Brownville, Maine ~ The weekend storm dumped about 8 inches of rain on Brownville in about six hours, with at least 6 inches coming in two or three hours. The heavy rains washed out roads, one was 5 feet deep and 20 to 30 feet wide, a motorist was killled when he drove into it. The rain fall was so severe it washed out the dirt from under railroad tracks and the tracks actually twisted. Freight had to be cancelled in that area until clean up crews can get in there and fix it. The Mayor is traveling there today to access the damage, it's been declared a State of Emergency/.
family in our church got hammered overnight, storm knocked the power out and a bunch of trees are down in their yard(they have a few acres) the husband was just diagnosed with Lyme's so he can't do any work yet
Thankful it wasn't bad here, but not far away there are many w/o power and will be for a few days. We were in Annapolis last night and our son lost power about 11pm and it was still out this afternoon when we left. Very icky humid!!!
