We were driving along yesterday near Itasca State Park, and I insisted my husband stop the car so I could get a closer look at the showy lady slipper (Cypripedium reginae) growing in the ditches along the roadways. They were abundant.

What a treat, I have encountered them in the wild only a couple times in my entire life.
