Better late than never!
I do not know but this year I'm later than last year!
Here Q0269 from the National Collection of Japan, is a beautiful cultivar ... the last picture you can see that one of its ancestor is a red picotee.
Hellena you have the Q0538 which is the same but with a revers tube .
And the discovery this morning ... something I had never seen!
No faking, no temperature problem because all the flowers of this plant (25) have a normal color.
This is a purpurea cultivar that is dark purple and making occasional small light blue spots ... it is on this feature that I was working ...And then bam!
Emma thanks for sharing !
This year I planted 850 seedling morning glory ... can be 600 different cultivars. In this picture there was an error! I gave a grid to a 枝垂れ Sidare in phonetics or droop plant .
These cultivars have the gene WE (weeping)... they have lost their geotropism, they can not climb the lattice is therefore useless to them.
There are so many volunteer and they are strong and healthy . Some are Hattie Bell others looks like Star of India or Hatsu Arashi. Some have variegated leaves there are even mutants ... all volonteers.
If I lived in a climate with early spring like Texas or Florida I would plant my seeds directly in the garden! ... to avoid the stress of planting.
Dany, Your mg is the one that grows in water I think. I can't remember the name right now.
The name might come to me or it might not. :-)
Beth grew this one yrs ago if this is indeed the one that grows and thrives in water
First flower :
Sazanami ... a must because make good crosses !
DFNM from Becky ... first time here !
Q 1221 ... I think it's not Grey Wolf !
Q 0240 ... I hope to have a flower wide open! ... one day !
My MG garden !
First pic :120 small containers ... Mostly one cultivar per container. ( 120 )
In the garden: 16 lines each with 25 cultivars. Drip irrigation. ( 400 )
An other place 2 lines with 70 cultivars - Drip irrigation. ( 140 )
And there in larger containers ... 1cultivar of Ipomoea purpurea and 1 of Nil . At harvest the seeds of Nil and Purpurea are very different so no problems!
But it's not a very good idea because purpurea needs a lot of water (large leaves) ... solution: cut a few leaves! (62 )
There are two cultivars of Ipomoea indica .
The blue (wild) just about to bloom!
And variety of Edith Piaf, who nearly died ... here with an ipomoea Nil in a large container ! only some leaves ... Sniff .
Here 'Edith Piaf' flower of last years.
I've never harvested seeds of Ipomoea indica!
Thanks... everyone !
Here is ' Aigasuri ' from Azuremore .
Today I used this flower as father for my crosses. All the flowers of this plant are 'normal' but a branch of this plant produces flowers with blizzard and not all from the same type .
