Those are so pretty Helena. Nice to see one from the Chocolate Mix and the Denim Mix
Your Rebeccas are especially lovely. I love George Strait. I grew it last yr or the yr before but
can't find my pix for some reason. I've spent hours looking, so aggravating.
I have 2 different DFNM blooming this morning, they're not the same
Thanks Helena. I'm spraying down the dogs yards and it does cool it down some. Makes the air blowing
across it feel 10 degrees cooler. The a/c is nice but I have so much to do and take care of that I have to be out
in the heat anyway. Probably a good thing that I'm too busy to sit in my rocking chair, lol
Very pretty Helena. It wouldn't hurt to feed them to try and coax a few more blooms out of them.
I've enjoyed your blooms very much. If you had not shared, there would have been no pics to drool over.
My bloom of Jap Asagao split again today. This is a bloom from yesterday,
Thanx Helena. Love all your blooms this morning, Great to see the light pink with dark pink star, one of my
favorites. Your Purple Blizzard is lovely. Mine bloomed this morning but
plain with no blizzard. Mine is usually variable so hopefully will make some speckles soon.
Not much, I have a few of the standard, white or purple ones, but my vines have really slowed down in this heat, the leaves are really small. Just not doing well this year! So I will come here and enjoy your blooms!
Helena your Pink Star Blizzard is a beauty. I'm still waiting on a pink.
Linda, we won;t be celebrating the 4th here, burn bans on and temps at 100 or more.
I feel sorry for the fireworks sellers, no cars = no customers everytime I drive by.
We may buy a few and hold onto them until we get lots of rain.
Pretty blooms Helena. Nice to see a Pink Porcelain bloom. I wonder
about that last bloom too. Kind of reminds me of my Youjiro on the fence. Yours is very pretty, nice pattern
I had one open this am and it looks different than usual. Mine throws some strange blooms sometimes, minatures and star shaped when the temps cool. This isn't pretty, just different
Maybe I planted a mutant sd on the fence and the one I posted is not my youjiro.
I've long since forgotten and thats what happens when I dont stick a label in the ground.
Something strange this morning with my Blue Lavender Beauty, orig sds were from Becky,
I had Blue and Lav blooms open at the same time. This one is in my lg tub out back.
Thanks Jackie and Linda. I love your mutant, beautiful bloom! Your no mai not and Pandy are really pretty too. My computer shows your no mai as a pretty pink-not purple. Is that the color?
For some reason my Pandy has not been blooming much, don't know why.
Thanks Helena,\ and Linda. I thought the Purple no Mai looked purple yesterday but todays bloom was definitely pink.
I will have another one open tomorrow and we can see what color it blooms. The one I'm calling
purple came from sds I gathered from this bloom from last yr. It was a no Mai that made purple colored blooms
Helena, thank you. That was last yrs purple bloom. Guess I'm not going to get any purple no Mai"s this'year.
Gorgeous blooms you have today. Wish I had grown a Blue Star.
Linda it is amazing how they can make completely diff blooms on the same vine. One reason I
love these MG's.
Todays no Mai is pink, oh well. I like it anyway.
Do you plant your morning glories seeds directly in the garden or do you start them early indoors?
The morning glories I planted have all stalled out about 2" tall. I still have hope . . . just not much.
I did get a late start though so now I'm planning for next year.
I'm thinking about starting them in gallon pots in the green house as early as possible, like February or March.
Thanks Linda, that one is Ipomoea tricolor, Blue Star. Another one that I like and should start seeds of Ip. tricolor, Flying Saucer.
Dee, I do start my seeds early in Feb and early March either inside or green house. I also planted mine in gallon pots with mixed soil, some old and fresh. I grew mg's all winter in my gh under heat lamps and got some neat ones too. It's a good idea to start planning now for next year.
In my spare room I have a 4 foot adjustable height plant light with a tray and full size heat mat. I figure I can start them there in January and then move them into the greenhouse in say March. I'm starting to collect seed from various sources too, the more unusual the better! I have some perennial white tree morning glory seeds coming, that's exciting. They are a Mexican native so they should be good for my area. Here's a photo of my best bloom today . . . not a morning glory unfortunately, LOL.
Well, every day I come to this place and drool over your blooms.
The only MG I've had bloom is a "President Tyler" and it was only 4 inches tall!
I am excited about my "Giant Moonflower" germinating though, even with only two leaves it looks like it is going to be huge.
Debra, I haven't planted them in yrs. Such a difficult
decision when you have hundreds of sd packets and try to decide how to prioritize which sds to start.
Maybe I'll try them next yr. I still have plenty of sds, but thanks for your kind offer. :-)
Helena, love your bloomz this morning. Big ole bee butt is funny. I think a bumblebee is what stung me
a couple of weeks ago. It hurt so bad I thought I was going to have to go to the emergency room..
It had to be a bee cause he left the stinger in my arm...
Debra, wish I had planted the light Choc Silk sds too. It was so pretty and I think it was a cross with the White Fuji from Antoinette, not sure though. Send us a pic next time, we don't mind if the bloom is torn. Most of mine are torn, esp the largest ones
i have that bold miss piggy too! I really do not care for the pinks the way I love the blues, but this one is gorgeous. I will see if I have any blooms tommorrow.. I had to unwind vines and move the hanging planters to the bottom of the south arbor..( new) the north arbor along the patio is covered in vines climbing the tall sunflowers, now I have a whole solid wall. YAY!
new arbor. I had to cut the i plantesis away ffrom the patio wall of vines, it wasn't getting eniught sun and too much water, so back out to the solid sun it went. it will be putting out in no time, it has already bloomed when the sunflowers were small. sticto has even bloomed already.. in june..
Debra.I might should know but I don't, lol. It was just a guess on my part. It probably is a Choc silk. if
thats what you planted. I remember that I was going to send you a no Momo sd but seems like I didn't
harvest enough to share. I've got one going now but its eat up by mites. Fasting spreading spider mites Ive ever had. I've sprayed but I waited too long to do it.
