Help ID this bug

Hello
I love taking photos to the bugs. I found this little one, with an out of ordinary sexual behavior. He opens its abdomen and pulls out those white... horns(?). After the alluring of the female he pulls them back. Do they contain feromons? Is it the white that is appealing?
Who is he?
Thank you

ellas,

That is fascinating and a great set of photos. I cannot identify your bug, except for saying it is a species of fly (Diptera). You can see in your photos that it only has one pair of wings a feature that is unique to the flies, the hind wings being modified to small balance organs known as halteres.
