Just beautiful! Are they starched? Is that how they stand up?

Yes they are starched in cornstarch and it works beautifully. I have had some now for many months and they are just as stiff as the first day. I soak them for about 20 mins and then put them on a mold and use some wax paper in the arms to keep the shape until dry.
    Thanks for your kind words.

These are indeed BEAUTIFUL. What is the cornstarch mix you use? I have a tree top angel that is getting a bit limp (after 20 years) and would like to re-do her.

    How tall are they?

Thanks, my tall ones are 17 1/2" and the small ones are about 8".
I use one cup of water and 2 tablespoons cornstarch.

Thanks for the recipe. A friend used Elemers Glue mixture to stiffen her's then developed an alergy tot eh glue so stopped making them. I'll have to let her know.

And I have a bag full of crocheted snowflakes that need to be stiffened.
