Help identify this flowering shrub. It's about 4 1/2 feet tall has bright green leaves (no odor) with lovely pink flowers which smell like licorice./anise.

Looks like an Agastache to me.

It's funny that you say that, 'cuz I was just thinking that it really doesn't look like my Hyssop, once I looked closer at the flowers. Though I'm not familiar with Clethra, I'm going to agree with you. :-)

tlm has it - 'Ruby Spice' is the most common pink flowered selection (or it sure used to be) with distinctly darker pink flowers that are kind of stubby compared to the species and white selections.
