    Good morning, Everyone!

Can anyone identify this plant for me? I found it snaking out of my silver tradescantia about a year ago and now it's ready to bloom (I received both plants as a gift from Glasshouse in Ohio). Here are two pictures.

Thank you for your help in advance!

Does not look like a vine to me. Post a photo of the flower since blossoming appears immenient, it will greatly reduce conjecture.

Looks like something in the Sinningia-family for me.

Yes, I'm sure it is a Gesneriad. It looks like the same plant I identified a couple of weeks ago for myself, after discovering a neglected flowerbed here that is full of them. Unfortunately, I didn't write the name down and stupidly thought I would remember it. I tried to re-find it again yesterday, but was unsuccessful. I'll keep trying.

Edit: I found the plant that I have. It is Gloxinia sylvatica [HYPERLINK@www.google.co.cr]

The only entry here in Plant Files is a named cultivar: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/adv_search.php?searcher[com...

It is also known as Seemania. Click on the Gloxinia link and you will see a lot more pics and info.

Thank you, Vanillaman. I believe you are correct. Here is a picture with its slightly more developed flower.

You are welcome Omoloya! It looks just like my plants. I will try to get a photo later today for comparison, although my plants are true species, rather than a named cultivar. I have to wait til it's not so bright and sunny and I also want to show you both leaves and flowers.

Here's a new picture. What a pleasant surprise; even before it bloomed, the texture and shape of the Gloxinia's leaves were tantalizing.
