looking good there Dana... Well.. as you say you're awaiting it to cool down.. for them to really turn on... with so many blooms there/then.. will you be able to walk outside at night..between the wild moths.. and the wild scents in the air..it will be difficult to keep your footing...I often awake with the first light of dawn.. having been taken away the night before.. Wildwood Romance is such a great name for one of the Brugs..
I have joint problems I get up sometimes at 4 am I am out there with my camera when there going strong i love it out there the air is so fragrant. Hang in there Susie theres still time. Wildwood Romance is a really nice brug with huge flowers. Really nice scent too. I bought Georgia Peach just because you said it was really fragrant. I have quite a few new ones coming I am excited about. Really looking forward to fall Gordon on BGI theres a woman thats from Conn. her plants are just gorgeous!! Her Dad helps her and they have green elbows arms feet you name it her brugs are a inspiration
I'll agree there about the black cow.. I used 300 lbs of it in mothers garden.. and I brought some back here for mine... but I also love the one I can get here in a few places.. a dehydrated one... no compost fillers.. just 100% cow... much more concentrated.. maybe only 150 lbs of it along with my black cow.. it sets up a strong plant that switches over to flowers with more fertilizers.. like MG tomato food.. or my algoflash.. a world record holding food.. http://www.algoflash.com/
Gordon what I have been using on everything is Dyna-Gro 7-9-5 with all the trace elements 1 teaspoon per gallon of water bought a Qt. off ebay price is not bad considering how many gallons of mix you would get from a Qt. Gingers Heliconias Brugs Passeys Plumeria they all get it and are looking good and a few blooming that haven't I have a seedling here of Volkers 3 plus years old it had buds can't wait very long thin pointed buds like Tea's Libling can't wait. As long as we don't get a hurricane
Looking Good Susie Plumeria don't like to share the light They want all the sun they can get looks good but I am thinking it would like some more sun. Your plants look great! never give up you have done all the right things to do all is left is flowers they will do that lol
lovely Dana... and great plumeria also.. no flowers on my plumerias here yet this year.. but they are in the back and becomming seriously overgrown... so with the decreased light.. I've only myself to thank for the flower situation...there...
Thanks Gordon we should be getting on the down hill slide here with the weather. Cooler weather been praying for this all summer been a super hot one. We received almost a foot of rain out of the last tropical storm brugs can only handle so much. Alot of them wilted some dropped buds but there's still enough out there to give me a nice show. A few new ones I have not seen bloom yet so I am excited. Have lots of butterflies around and there babies swallowtails
Schlossburg being shy never saw this befire when the second skirt doesn't drop
Maya with her helpers
This ones for Gordon the pink mate to his cute little one about 4 inches
Happy Labor Day!
Hi seedling I grew had another that was a shiny butter color it bloomed and died it was a seedling also I really liked that one too thats the way it goes. I have a double here too thats that small I will post it when it blooms
Lovely Dana... Flemming Island Rachael has a great flower for you... it looks thick and waxy.. my favorite..I'm awaiting buds on mine here... there's perhaps the beginning of some.. but it'sa cutting this spring.. and is 6' tall.. so I'm happy ..knowing with that great growth.. a knockout display will eventually occour.. GLW
It's also hoast to a passion vine of unknown everything.. it just appeared... don't know if it was in the soil... likely temptation if it was.. as it dropps fruit just everywhere or it could have come from the swap and in with the plant it'sself.. Or should it be called a beg rather than a swap..
Wow look at all those stalks looking good. Mine was 2 8 inch cuttings I bought off bgi started rooting them in Dec. They are 12 fters now mango crush was some I bought going to have to take a chain saw to them they are huge, I have quite a few blooming here now but my charger on my camera broke waiting on replacement bummer. I took a few with my old camera but it off loads where you have to hunt them. Susie there will be a rooted plant for you come spring.
TY Dana I Find all mine have been doing better this year since I Put them right into the ground I Just got home from Bingo , as i was walking up the path the smell is just so aromatic out there & I want to go back out there but My eyes are saying go to bed so guess i will just get up early & Have my coffee outside in the morning :))))
Yes they love the cooler weather its still hot here but end of this month mine should really turn on still getting alot of bud drop but that will end with cooler temps. Heres that 2 tone again can see it better in this pic its a nodding
Lovely Dana...does it keep the two tone look throughout the bloom.. I've a few that are about like that .. but like in the first picture of Kelly Ann I believe... after a day or so of the white/ yellow look... it starts to become pink
In the second picture of Georgia peach.. there's a yellow stripe on the orange of the flower.. before it becomes more yellow/orange
Thanks for sharing Gordon those are neat I checked mine 2 days that lasted this morning its pretty much yellow. But I did have one bloom for the first time Magnifique. Hi Gordon my angels pride is just starting to bloom again. From last Thanksgiving when I bought my cuttings I bought 2 Rachels they are both 10 fters now small trees it blooms decent here and blooms hold together in the heat big plus.
well it is going to be another 37 tomorrow am I cut some today but the others are still In full BLOOM & Beauty ful I hate to cut them .
the cold this morning didn't seem to hurt them at all .
question : when you cut them back do you strip off all the leaves & put them right into water to root. ???
anyone need a few No Name Burgs cuttings for next spring ?? Dmail me dana the ones I want to save that you shared with me
I have taken to my friends place she has a full HUGE Basement & I can still let them grow in pots over there .
Very good Susie you take all the leaves off Green is hard to root now woody cuttings go in water green cuttings rot in water. I used frost cloth and left mine out all winter they were under trees went down to 20
