I'll do baked beans. Did those last year and cooked them in my crock pot overnight, unplugged it and wrapped in a towel. It was so hot when I got to Jim's it didn't need to be warmed up again.

Since I'm traveling kinda far, I think I'll bring a dessert that will travel...maybe a key lime cake or something else I'll think about before now and then.

Elaine, I am not the host of the party, but I think everyone will agree that you should not worry about food as you are traveling so far. I am sure we will have plenty.

Sandra, it's not THAT far, and I'm happy to bring a dessert. It will probably only take me about 3.5-4 hours to drive. Not bad at all. I found there's a Hampton Inn there too so that will be perfect. DH may come with me so that will work out great if we decide to do something in Memphis part of the day on Sunday.

We still need plates, silverware etc. but who ever brings that needs to make sure they are definitely coming. Don't want to be without these things at the last minute.

I'm going to bring potatoe salad and some home made blackberry lemonaid

we have several salads and a couple of desserts, we have baked beans, so we have all the essentials.

Are we ready to eat?

yes I'm crazy, cause i'm up at 5:30 I had a horrible headache so, i'm up.

I'm hoping to have my living room finished this week, then i can unpack and be done with the remodel till next spring, We'll have to put off the back part of the house , Danny has no time, you know, priorities come first (deer camp) I'm going to book my pampered chef party and have it before they come in and strip the cabinets and repaint them. hopefully I can have a fall luncheon here also.

Hey Kathy! I'm always up at 5:30 during the week. Sneaking in posts during work before anybody gets here. Anyway, I meant to ask if anyone has any nut allergies or anything before I decide for sure on the dessert to bring.

Hope we'll all check-in again before we all leave home so we can get last-minute things together. I'm happy to grab up things like paper plates, cups, forks, etc. I always have some extras stashed.

Blackberry lemonade sounds yummy!!!! No nut allergies here!!! Pecans on grilled cheese why I never heard of such but it sounds like it would be delicious I might just have to try it for breakfast...Hope you survived your headache KathyAnn. I woke up with one this morning too, ughh I think it prob has something to do with my baby being scared of thunder and he had to get in bed with us at 4am. Just not enough room in my bed for DH and I and a 50 pound pup. I think next time I'll opt for a lil lap dog lol...

Trish he looks pretty comfy!!!

I just chop up some pecans and sprinkle on the cheese before I put the second slice of bread on. Pecans are a standard stock item at my house. I freeze a bunch every fall. Don't think I've ever run out of pecans in the freezer!

I can bring some bottled water... and a dessert? or whatever?? I thought about deviled eggs... but I wasn't sure about them traveling such a distance - decided that might not be best. Anyone have any ideas for something else they would like to have??

Genna I would just make some kind of desert - brownies, cookies, etc. Don't think it really matters what as even if someone brings something similar it will still be different. This group will eat anything!

I've been looking at the food list and have decided to bring some blueberry muffins. They will be something different and won't be sugary sweet. It seems the rest of you have all the bases covered! There is never any lack of food when this group gets together! LOL
