That is a beautiful Gladiolus species, but I don't know which one. Hopefully a Gladiolus collector will show up and know it.

    Hallo growin

Thank you very much. Cannot remember were this Gladiolus came from. Was surprised when I saw the beautifull flowers.

Here are 2 good sites with lots of photos. The second sells and ships seeds internationally and I bought about 30 different species from them.

I've ordered from Silverhill too and the seed viability was very good.

Agreed growin! I ended up with so many seedlings, but unfortunately I moved and donated them all to a friend down the road who has an incredible Botanical Garden, now open to the public. If they flowered, I didn't get to see them.

Funny Thalictrum! I am not Dutch, but many Europeans and North Americans visit here and also retire here. Besides loving Horticulture, I study languages. You started off in Nederlands, which I understood, so I was just trying to say "you are welcome".

    Hi

Just noticed that I started off in Dutch. By the way can you grow Gladiolus from seeds and is Gladiolus papilio a hybrid?

Yes papilio is a species, but has a few pseudonyms. You can definitely grow Glads from seed, either the species or by collecting your own seeds from your hybrids, if you have any. They might look like the parents or could be very different and surprising.

This is just one site that talks about growing them from seed:
