Good crops in south Texas this year. Cotton prices are down, but grain sorghum and corn prices are up. We are getting more rain than last year.
I'm on vacation in MN. The southern part of the state could use rain, but the northern part is getting too much. Crops are good in the northern part despite the rain, but making it difficult to harvest right now.
Cotton and soybean is doing well as is hay and cattle. Corn is a lost cause -- we got rain we just didn't get it at the right time. Anyone who was dryland farming lost all their early corn. Late corn may be okay.
Potatoes are a spring/fall crop -- spring was fine and it's too soon to tell for fall. Peanuts... we don't know yet. LAst year was so bad that hopefully the peanut farmers will have a good harvest.
utah.. its not been the real extreme midwest has suffered from..
corn is ok here..
tomatoes are doing really well..but spotty.. some are doing really well..some heat is dropping
im sure alot has to do with how much water they have access to.
my vegy garden has done well this summer..
i also do alot of composting.. i dug in 100 bags of shredded leaves, and 2 truck loads of rabbit manure
last fall .. im sure that has helped hold water in the soil more..
