I was listening for the pops from my lids tonight. I am 100% sure I heard at least 9 pops. I have a 7 quart canner. Is this normal or okay if a lid pops more than once? I have never paid much attention to the pops before. Usually I just check 24 hours later to make sure all jars are sealed.

If the lids have sealed there is no play in the lid if you press it. It should be concave and firm when pressed

Yes Anna there is no play in them and they are concave. I just couldn't understand why I heard too many pops.

I watched a youtube about canning meat and she showed a jar that popped and 30 sec. later it would pop again. This went on for 7 or 8 times.
The food inside was boiling, it was strange.

I've had it happen, while most stuff pops within a few minutes of coming out I had a jar of apples pop on and off for several minutes a few days ago.
