In Massachusetts, I have Blue Prince & Blue Princess hollies, four of the females. They flower nicely and make wonderful berries. During some years, they've made a 2nd crop of flowers & berries that start developing in August - too late to be red by cold weather.
Can someone tell me what causes this? I've considered the dry & wet periods but can't see a clear reason. I'd like to avoid the 2nd crop if I can.
Thanks. Pat Davis
