It's been beautiful at night time, great sleeping weather and the warm days signal an end to summer here. I noticed the sun is greeting me earlier in the morning and leaving sooner in the evening, soon fall will be upon us.
yes we had to put the windows down as it was in the 50s. 73° now & partly cloudy. Think of Jumper driving the fish belonging to her DD & roomates back to school. They live at her house during the summer.
Hard to believe kids are heading back already! Cold last night, & although it was sunny for a little while, it's now 65, cloudy, cool & damp...and Pixie, I too, had a sapsucker banging on the house at 7 this morning...& I don't feed him...my shingles must be riddled with bugs...
Doc has me on 2 5mg of Melatonin which helps. sometimes i sleep through & when I wake up once i can go back to sleep. summer of 2009 I kept waking up every 2 hrs. which was dreadful. I found that you have to get the Melotonin at a drug store. It varies according to the producer. stuff at a grocery store is no good.
Had a beautiful day for a family lobster bake. I had an almost perfect day with the exception of some bad news...thats twice this week. :(
My sunrise was shaded in pinks and blues, and my end of day sunset was just simply beautiful. The good Lord has a way of softening the blows of life, I'm thankful for all he's given me.
Our evening service was at the park. It looked like the rain would bypass us, BUT, no sooner did we finish singing than it started sprinkling. Thankfully there was a gazebo there so we could all move out of the rain and finish, cuz it did come down. DS debated with himself all afternoon about moving it to the church building. It all worked out well, though. The radar maps made it look like it would bypass us to the west by a bit. God has a sense of humor, cuz Taylor preached this morning about the power of God and his rebuke of the wind during a storm and when He told the sea to be calm. He was just reminding us that He is in control.
after a heck of a nasty day.. and a well needed shower when I came home.. seems like it might be a nice night out tonight.. might be able to open the windows later.. I am beat from the heat today though
Low 70s here. Comfortable for garden work. Just did a bit because of sore shoulder. No yellow jackets here at the mement but I have seen a bee crawling around grass stems. Perhaps one of the ground nesting types. I kept an eye on it, but we really ignored each other.
Crazy weather! Tornado warnings all over the place...had to pull off the road coming home from the farm...happened to be in WFF's parking area! Turned on the radio to hear..."Take shelter if you are in the following towns: East Morris..." yep, that's where I was! Just like a fire hose turned on the windshield, roads flooded...had to put the car in AWD...no wind damage though, & got home safely...but the warnings are up to 9 tonight...
speaking of power walking.. you have to see the one guy who jogs around the lake here in the morning.. looks like he is trying to fly.. UGH .. makes me laugh everyday.. I keep trying to figure out how to tape him and not get busted.. LOL
Lots of debris on the lawn from last night, lost power a few times but all in all it wasn't bad.
I think if we hadn't taken down the gazebo yesterday afternoon it would of been a different story and no smiley faces would be posted right now.
It's 66 now and still raining a little here and there. High of 64 for today and my wind advisory has been replaced by a FROST advisory for tonight. :(
66° & gloomy just over an inch of rain last night. Glad that I got my little iris seedlings planted yesterday so they got a watering. Dr. appointment this morning. checked the renewal date on the meds.
I thought there wasn't any damage until I walked the north side of the yard...one of those blankety-blank white pines split & landed in my neighbor's spruce tree, which thank God, kept it from hitting his new second story!! Must call the tree service, although there was so much damage in the surrounding towns, I don't know when they'll get to it...
