A friend of mine has a plant that stands about 12" tall, and it has white pods about 1" in diameter hanging off the branches that look like eggs. She called it an "Egg Plant" but I can't find any information about it on the internet. Does anyone know what it is or how I can get information about it's care and requirements?

They don't require more than normal care. pretty tough plants. There are two that meet your description. The Easter Egg plant http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1383/ and http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2017/ one is barely edible the other is not but vendors tend tend to mix them anyway.
