I am SO out of my league in Australia! It may simply be weather, or anything else. We usually ask for pix to help us, as it is very hard to read your mind, chuckle, are the stix alive? (If you bend one, does it snap like it is dead, or does it feel like it is still good living wood? ) I would prune back a bit to living wood, and hope for the best!

Reb - I am guessing it has died, but I am not really sure exactly what plant you have, can you post a picture on the plant identification thread? If we can identify it accurately, we can find out why it didn't survive to this year, and I am no expert honestly!
