I found these near our cabin in western NC. I saw one last year which was blue but all I saw this year are as you see here. The blue one was in a different spot. Thanks for your comments.

That looks like Chelone/Turtlehead, not Gentian.

OK, well thanks. I bought a Chelonii leonii earlier this year and planted it not too far away. I know these didn't come from what I bought and that's not the first time I've bought a native plant only to then find more of same nearby. This is the way I learn and I greatly appreciate the comments.
