I grow a few cannas from seed I "liberated" from several nurseries and got the first blooms today.

lovetropics, I started them last August and had them in a pot where they weren't doing very well, so I transplanted them into a bed on 7/11 and they bloomed within 2 months.

Fishie, it took a lot of looking, but I had about a dozen seeds. You have to score the seeds or they won't germinate and that was the hardest part. I only managed to get 4 to stay alive long enough to be transplanted.

Worms, I'd love some, thank you. I'll D-mail you my address. Let me know if there's something you're looking for and if I have some seed, I'll send it to you.

Wow that is pretty. I love growing plants from seeds. Watching them grow is half the fun.

lovetropics, I kill as much as I get to grow, so I would say my thumbs are more chartreuse than green.
