This is the veg? that I need help in identifying. I thought it was a cuke at first but it is not. It is very pithy and bitter. Maybe some type of gourd. Even the young ones are the same. Any help will be appreciated. I ask them where they got the seeds. Said they bought them.

It's a loofah. Let the rest dry out completely on the vine, then peel off the skin and shake out the seeds.

I'm a little jealous- I havent been able to grow them in years.
