I didn't tune into the National Zoo Panda Cam this morning. I went out to my local flea market. When I got back and signed on, the news came through that Mei Xiang, the female Giant Panda at the National Zoo has lost her week-old cub. I was watching the Pandacam last night and the baby was alert and making noise as Mama gave it a bath. I am so sad. It's as bad as losing one of my dogs. I hope she can have another next year and I will be sure to visit her on my next trip to Washington, DC.
