I'm with Pepper. HALLOWEEN!!! I have a brother who shares my love of scary movies. Every Oct. we have a list of them to watch, one per day. We give each other ideas through the year. Our lists have gotten large enough so we have to start in Sept. LOL It's always hard to decide which one to watch on Halloween night.
Hello all my weather friends...I've been MIA all September since we were traveling around in our camper. No fall here yet...still getting up to upper 80's. Wicked thunderstorm last night, even had a house near us destroyed by a lightning strike. More expected this afternoon.
Came home to a real jungle since there was tons of rain while we were gone...my passion vine has taken over the yard since I wasn't here to give it direction. Lots of blooming yellows and oranges...my fall color...since we don't have the leaves change until December here. However I did see some nice fall colors in the trees in north Florida, which means it is heading down here.
Hope you all enjoy the cooler weather and send it down here...soon. ☺
Well growing like a jungle is good, having to weed because nothing is where you would like it to be is bad..Exercise in the outdoors weeding is good?
Ah yes! the impatient one has returned , cold 60 degrees here, rained all night last, and this morning.rain and fog.
I don't know what kind of weather to hope for anymore
It is still freakishly warm here right now, it says 67°. The high today, (since it's after midnite I guess, is only 64° they say). I'm confused now, (I'm easily confused..lol) I'm not really sure how that's working for them, because wouldn't THAT 67 be the high? Oh well, I have world peace to solve!
Started out in 60s, then the winds shifted and knocked temps down by late morning to the mid 50s. Put my hoodie back on to keep warm!!
Earlier tonight my mom looked out the front window and saw my neighbor's burro in the front yard. This burro lives 3 houses up the road so he had to walk a bit of a distance. We went out and tried to lead him to the road but he resisted til we got a bag of carrots out. lol. I ran up the road to my neighbor's house to let them know he escaped (again) while my mom bribed him up the road with the carrots. Needless to say he freaked out when he realized his pet went that far. Our hands were cold by the time we got back home!! LOL
Thundering now off and on. Must be trying to rain again.
Not a good one me being me, cannot see straight through a lens and have nothing to use that has auto focus, lol This is the second smaller bloom with a larger bloom stem ,the was knocked down in one of only three?storms this summer. Middle of pic ,or nearly.
All the cool weather sounds very nice to me...well not 30's and frost, but I'd settle for anything under 70 for a night. We've been pounded with heavy afternoon rains all week long, and I have no clue where the weather.com gets their totals from because we've had way over what they show. Every single night a heavy rain with some wicked thunder and lightning several eves with over an inch and half, one night two inches. This is after it reaches 90 each day. Talk about muggy!
This morning it was 72, that is the lowest we've been since we've been back from vacation. This is supposed to finally clear out this coming week...fingers crossed, my garden is a sopping wet jungle...I feel like I live in the tropics this week.
26 here last night 29 about according to one of the T,V. broadcasts, anyway too cold, sunny now maybe 58 for a high.
Any old how it makes my hands cold without gloves the remainder is kinda comfortable ,you all know, that kind of weather.
Cold this morning with temps in the low 30s but we finally warmed up to low 60s. About froze to death at work this morning though. It was cold enough that my hands were freezing cold to the touch and everytime something landed on them it hurt!! lol
After months complaining about the grey, showery wet weather our first winter storm front is approaching from the Northwest. The weather system stalled just north of Kauai so we won't get a lot of rain but the resulting changes in the weather give us a moderate south or southwest breeze blowing VOG up to the main islands from the Volcano. In our local area on Hawaii Island we get heat. The southerly wind blows the air from the tropics (humid) over the black lava fields and adds to the heat. Its 90f in Hilo at this moment and 84f in the shade outside our window. Out in the sun the temperature must be a gazillion farenheit. Well it feels like standing in front of a furnace under a clear blue sky. Good thing is the ground will dry out and gardening will be possible again.
This will last about three days then the tradewinds will return. No complaints, just an uncomfortable change.
Cloudy with occasional showers this afternoon. Winds WSW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 40%.
We've frozen twice, but I still picked tomatoes and Brussells sprouts yesterday. I have to deal with the Brussels today and make a green tomato pie. I have a lot of tomatoes showing a bit of color.
I've been spending two nights at my Daughter's and that eats a big chunk of my week. Then I sleep in trying to get myself back on schedule. Last Wednesday we all woke up with cold, so I'm fighting that right now.
Today, I sincerely hope we get rain. We are in a drought. Our rivers have all but dried up with no rain this year. We pounded in three more feet of pipe on the outdoor pitcher pump. Only half the point was covered in water. Pretty serious for us living off a water table...
A COOL 34 DEGREES some frozen water around here and there ,really 31 to 34 depending on where you are standing at. At least there is no wind, some sun beginning this morning, it's been a day or two since we have seen old sol. 60 or so forecast for later.
I always fascinate from the things like the cup of water that is not and did not freeze sitting outside and a few feet away there is drizzle from yesterday morning frozen like a thin puddle, Town and city micro environments are strange, makes the full moon thing come to mind.
Rained yesterday evening and most of last night ,70 yesterday ,65 to 70 today 20 to 30 mph winds 50's tonight.
Cloudy ,may rain more. Nice weather yesterday for a few hours .
forecast is saying chance of severe storms ,possible tornadoes, and 40 to 45 mph winds for later today.
Back on the 8th I said it was hot and the trade winds were returning. Well they did but it stayed hot but less humid and no rain. I think we have had 5 days without rain now. Thats OK. Trade winds are predicted to fade away by Wednesday and then we return to a southerly hot humid weather pattern.
Already had our first high surf warning of the season with 25 to 30 ft waves. Prediction for the winter is for more storms than usual approaching from the north west.
Jujur7 - Its been quiet for us this year but not out of the woods yet this hurricane season. Our most devastating hurricane Iniki hit us during Thanksgiving.
microb The nearest I ever been to a hurricane was the gulf coast ,I think that was one of the tropical storms just before Irene? 1969.That wind in what was only a tropical storm like to about drove me nuts, rain that stings, wind whistling all the time hour after hour, If had to listen to wind like that all the time, like say the dust bowl decade, i probably would of been one of the people that had hung myself!!! Those things are dreadful, low air or atmospheric pressure causing me a headache was another.
Windy to the extreme here, now as I type this .The wind only sounds like a rumble here though ,It is what I am use to,
If you think this is depressing listening to my opinion about tropical storms, would you like to here my story about a giant ocean waves before they existed? They weren't there before 1990 or was that 2000? you know. LOL
Stormy yesterday but luckily not severe. Did get some strong winds last night, strong enough that with roads slick it was hard to drive straight. But today the sun shined and we had a strong breeze but calmer.
Night before last we had a rain white out, could not see to drive for a few minutes. nice today sunny 60's ,for tomorrow partly cloudy and 70 we will see.
Fall is pretty, and comfy when temps are 60 to 70 degrees.
Pretty warm today in Florida (87°), but we are getting a cold front they say tomorrow and the weekend will only be low 80's instead of high 80's. Ha ha. At least the mornings are below 70 now. Actually except for today it has been quite pleasant.
We were camping this past week and had our first campfire of the season...we just put the fans on us and sat a bit back from the fire pit. ☺
Happy Fall ya all!
My very overgrown fall garden...I was gone all last month and it rained the whole time here...what a jungle.
Hello folks, sorry it's been awhile, it was a horrible summer for me but am slowly getting back on track!! Our temps are still in the 80's, during the day but the nights get nice & cool! We haven't had much rain so we are certainly overdue for it!!! Hope everyone is doing well..I have not read the updates lately :0(
Interesting weather going on here, sounds like an Indian Summer for some.
72 degrees now, up to mid 80's today... Raining here in Central FL from bands of Hurricane Sandy (my DIL's name by the way), but supposed to stay off our coast and just give us outer bands and winds no more than 40-50 tomorrow and Saturday. Hopefully the storm stays off the US east coast and goes out to sea...they really don't know what it is doing...spaghetti track they call it.
It has been that all day here ,about 46 degrees, after yesterdays all day 80 ,that feels plenty cold!!! 30's tonight, who opened the refrigerator door !!! wow. Yes it' rainy and windy too ,oh pooh toohey!!
you warned me! but somehow I told you so just doesn't say it!!!lol
68° cloudy and windy. Hurricane Sandy brought us just a wee over an inch of rain here. We only had a few rain bands come over us. I live 26 miles inland from the east coast. Tomorrow should be fantastic, by Tues. they predict a dip into the upper 40's at night...I'll believe that when I see it.
Jeanne always hard to wear shoes and socks again, so far I'm still in flip flops and sandals. ☺
So CG! lol You think I told you so does say it!!! I agree it says it''s "COLD" Yeah, about freezing last night here, 50's and sunny here now ,feels comfortable and warmer than that, typical fall day(I think I have read that before a few days ago)hee hee.
If I was to guess I would say either way the weather comes from ,it going to be cold for a while!lol
This is the kind of weather, and time of year, that I don't trust the forecast ,it changes to fast!
Weather has been average over the last couple of weeks. Some periods of calm humid weather followed by steady trade winds and showers. Still near 75-80f during the day and low to mid 60s at night.
Dodged a bullet last night. Islands were under a Tsunami Warning for a few hours following the earthquake in Canada. Coast line evacuated, Tourists in Waikiki told to go above the third floors of their hotels. Chaos on the roads with everyone moving inland (where do you go on Oahu with one million residents on an island only 15 miles wide in some spots)
All cameras focused on the beaches as 10.28pm approached. - Thankfully nothing happened. A few inches surge in a couple of harbors so the threat was real but no tsunami.
Mike, glad to hear you are safe!
Bernie, Happy Belated Birthday!
Stay safe everyone if you are in the hurricane's path!
We have rain and wind too, temps are down to 40F during the night and going to 30F tonight. 47F today.
From his early dinosaur films when he was real young to his 50's garage films, when they started naming the technique stop animation.
His last version of clash of the titans was really neat for the old technique,It was fun to have such a person to create entertainment.
For the time he lived I don't think anyone surpassed his ability with animated film, (Monster Movies) Allright Harry!!!! lol
its halloween and it got to 72F here..?? huh? lol feels more like
sept..not end of oct..
i wish i had put in some fall lettuce now..sigh..maybe i still can..who knows
maybe it wont get cold here till jan.. no complaints here if it did..
would love a low heat bil !!!!!!!!!!!!
