don't know if this is some sort of dragon fly. found it on upper Niagara River.
it was basking in the sun and didn't care to fly away even when disturbed.
Only one pair of wings, so it is one of the true flies and not a dragonfly which has two pairs of wings. Think it is a species of crane fly, but someone else will have to ID further.
