Found this today growing in one of those areas they put flowers in the parking lots of stores. It's about 6-8 inches tall but the buds are big, roughly 1 inch across. The buds and stems are pubescent, leaves I can't remember.

Some creeping succulent with about 1 inch purple flowers. Same area.
