    Mounding upright dark green stalks with small purple flowers with yellow and white on them. From afar the plants look silvery grey. Located in Long Island NY. This photo was taken today, but the flowers have been in bloom all summer. thank you!

    Yes, definitely an Angelonia. One of my favorites because they seem to bloom almost forever!

    Thank you so much! Even though the fact sheet says it grows in Zone 11 apparently it's thriving in Zone 7. I pass a big garden of these everyday on my way to work, lucky me, and they are part of a commercial building property. My challenge will be finding a local nursery that sells these plants! (Unless the store lets me take a cutting.)

    The zone only refers to winter hardiness--no reason they couldn't grow just fine in your area during the warmer months, then they will die over the winter.
