Hey Bev - and any others that tried this:

What results do we have now?

I was interested to hear you mention trying to sweeten it with pear
as one of my first thoughts at reading how much sugar you needed was to try different fruits
both for sweetness and extra flavour.

Can you all update the results of your experiments?
    TIA,
    ~m

I myself have not tried to make any syrup.
Sundowner may not notice this unless you dmail her directly, or reply to her thread where she said she wanted to try pear juice.

    Marilyn,
I responded to your Dmail thinking you were referring to my article [ http://davesgarden.com/guides/articles/view/3500/ ] about making hickory syrup using this article of Sally's. I have every intention of making more pear honey next fall using an old-time recipe that uses no sugar at all. I'll try a batch of the hickory syrup with the natural version of pear honey and report back.

    Sally,
Thanks for your Dmail suggestion to her, and I didn't aim to hijack your article thread with my own link.
    Hope you're doing well!
