My first thought was Prunus caroliniana, but I am not really sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hard to see the detail but I'd guess Prunus lusitanica or Laurus nobilis. A close-up would help.

Looks more like Laurus nobilis to me.

Crush a leaf and have a sniff - the two smell very different, Laurus nobilis of bay leaves (hardly surprisig!!), Prunus lusitanica of bitter almonds.
