I have a bazillion hollyhock seeds. When should I sow them?

I'm in the southwest, but in a high desert area. I sewed mine before the first freeze (you probably don't have freezes down there) and they have already survived a couple of 23-degree nights. I'll bet you could sew them at any time where you are. The seeds I planted were ones I saved from a former flower bed in 2006. Surprised that most of the six-year-old seeds that I'd just thrown into a brown paper sack came up.
