Hey, I am trying to identify a plant by its seeds. Anyone out there know what these might belong to?
The grid paper in the background is ruled in 5mm squares. The seeds are rounded on one side and have a bit of a ridge on the other.
They are likely indigenous to the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. I'm afraid I don't have anymore information to help.
Lack of response here can well mean there is not enough information or unusual aspects that we can see , to make a guess. You could plant them, label them, and wait, and eventually might grow them and find out.
I doubt we could ID this. There are some large herbarium collections that you could go through but that would take forever. We'd need to see leaf, stem, size. Tree, shrub, vine, herbaceous perennial, etc. The only seed collections I know of are at CFIA offices, particularly in the grain inspection offices for ID on grain imports for comparison by inspection officers.
