# 2 looks like a Sorghum bicolor.

Thanks, Tim, I think you nailed the second one. Could the mauve colored flowers be attached to a cactus of some sort?

Definately a cactus, but I won't hazard a guess as to which one.

Do you have a picture of the cactus that shows a little more of the plant itself vs the flowers? That may help someone ID it. You can see a little bit of it in the picture here but I'm not sure if it's enough detail.

Most certainly, I would agree that those flowers are attached to some type of cactus.
