Supposed to be evergreen in Houston, TX area. The stems are red. The leaves have a red arrow point near the base of the leaves. The leaf edges are slightly serrated. It may spread. I got it at a plant swap.

Thanks, I thought the gardens in HI were fabulous, esp.Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden on Big Island.

I have Persicaria capitata (pink bubbles) and had noticed the similarity in the markings. Seems like this one is Persicaria microcephala, Red Dragon.

Purpleinopp: What do you mean chvrons mean trouble?

Many members of this genus have chevrons on their leaves, and many of these are problematic invasive weeds, hence trouble in the garden.
